What? Why?
CSV Import / Export is a Sitefinity solution, that allows you to import and export CSV. Just upload the CSV, map the fields, choose how to resolve the conflicts and import. We did the CSV import / export tool as we quickly realized that almost any software product on the planet offers some way of CSV import / export. If not directly through the UI, then maybe through it's database.
Most of the systems support it
From legacy accounting software, through websites, most systems / websites have the ability to export content to either CSV or Excel (which in most cases can again be easily converted to CSV).
Most of the databases support it
Most database management tools also allow you to export your query results to CSV or Excel file. This means that you can easily import data from arbitrary system to Sitefinity.
Media support
We also added support for images, documents and videos export. So you can now for example export users with avatars (it exports to zip in this case) and have them imported on another Sitefinity instance seamlessly. Same for any other content that has images or documents (like dynamic modules for example).
Battle tested
This solution is working on a bank website for more than a year, responsible for the import of some content items. No issues were reported so far. CSV import is also at work for a publishing website, where it imports the new agency accounts.
Quick implementation *
Our team can quickly jump in and implement the feature for you.
Basic implementation could take as less as a day, advanced scenarios may require more time.
You can be done tomorrow.
* We can develop complex imports and workflows. For example - import or export based on Sitefinity tasks, that can be scheduled. Unsupported data types could also be developed if needed (for example - complex relations, sanity check on import / export triggered by some sort of event).
** Don't wory if your version of Sitefinity is a bit outdated. We will investigate and get back to you if our solution is can be implemented in your project.
