We are releasing Chameleon v1.2 today - a focused update that improves Sitecore assessment quality and gives you a first look at what is coming for SharePoint migrations. If you are managing a legacy CMS estate and planning a move to Sitefinity or Umbraco, this release has something for you.

The Sitecore adapter has received a significant round of improvements based on real-world assessments run on production Sitecore installations:
/sitecore/content/*/Home detection path has been refined to handle multi-site Sitecore instances more gracefully. The SharePoint adapter is in active development and a preview is included in v1.2. You can point Chameleon at a SharePoint 2016 or 2019 installation and get back a preliminary content inventory - page counts, document library sizes, and site structure depth - exported to the standard Excel report format.
This is a read-only, non-destructive scan. No data is modified on the source SharePoint instance. The full adapter, including content type mapping and migration readiness scoring, is on track for release ahead of the July 2026 end-of-support deadline.
SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint 2019 both reach end of extended support on July 14, 2026. After that date, Microsoft will no longer issue security patches. If your organisation is running either version, the clock is ticking.
Chameleon was built to remove the guesswork from CMS migration scoping. Before you can plan a move to Sitefinity or Umbraco, you need to know what you are actually migrating - content volume, content types, media assets, and custom code. That is exactly what Chameleon produces, in a single Excel report, without requiring access to the source database.
For teams planning a Sitefinity migration, Chameleon gives your implementation partner the data they need to scope the project accurately from day one. No more back-and-forth discovery phases. No surprise scope creep mid-project.
The same applies to Umbraco migrations - Chameleon feeds directly into the onboarding assessment, giving both sides a clear picture before the engagement begins.
SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint 2019 end-of-support on July 14, 2026 is not a soft cutoff. It is the date Microsoft stops shipping security fixes. For public sector organisations and regulated industries, running an unpatched intranet or web platform past that date creates real compliance exposure.
If your organisation is still on either SharePoint version, now is the time to run a Chameleon scan and understand the migration scope. We work with government bodies, universities, enterprises, and institutions across the globe - wherever you are, the deadline is the same.
Reach out early - migration projects of any meaningful size take 3-6 months minimum. Starting now puts you in the best position to meet the deadline comfortably.
Chameleon v1.2 is available now as a free download for Windows.
